Aston Martin Valhalla could use Mercedes engine
This means that the bespoke engine being developed for the supercar is now likely to be scrapped
It has been quite some time since we have heard anything about the much-awaited Aston Martin Valhalla. Until now, because Autocar report that in an investors meeting Aston's head honcho Tobias Moers has said that haven't yet been decided yet regarding future cars but he did say that Merc platforms are available at a "a reasonable cost".
Tobias might be pointing towards the possibility of an AMG heart for the Valhalla. Furthermore, Aston said that the revised version of the Valhalla will "probably have a different drivetrain" to the one seen in the 2019 concept of the car.
"We will have the Valhalla with us in the second half of 2023, and it's going to be an amazing car with breath-taking technology", said Tobias Moers.
He further said that "with Mercedes-Benz, there are other chances" for Aston Martin "regarding combustion engines" though they do have an electrified drivetrain option as well. Autocar further said that we will see the revised Valhalla in the coming months.
