A couple weeks ago, I met up with @r34adam to talk about cars (What else?) over a cup of coffee. Adam is one of the most down to earth guys I've ever met, and I am beyond obsessed with his ride. Obviously, his Skyline is a tribute car to Paul Walker's car from the movie '2 Fast 2 Furious.' If you haven't seen the movie (You NEED to watch it), but here's a short clip of the Skyline scene.
THE REAL DEAL
Adam's car is obviously not exactly the same as the Skyline in the movie, but the ultimate goal is to get it to look as close to screen accurate as possible. To get into the specifics on his car, he has a Skyline GTT with an RB25 engine, single turbo, and rear wheel drive. He has clearly made many changes to it, as this is what the car looked like before:
WHAT'S BEEN DONE
Some of the changes he has made include adding new coil overs to lower the car to be at the perfect ride height, installing a C-West GT wing to replace his old one, and most recently removing the side skirt extensions.
The visor is even signed by Chad Lindberg from the original 'The Fast and the Furious' cast!
Of course, there is a lot more work to be done, but there are two constant issues with modifying this car. The first is that many parts used on the original movie car have been discontinued for over a decade! This means that a lot of the parts are near impossible to find and the people who do have them are not likely to sell them anytime soon. The second issue, which is a given, is that modifying the R34 Skyline is insanely expensive. Not only is there seemingly never-ending maintenance and changes to be made, but due to the rarity of parts, it means that future changes will come with a hefty price tag. However, just seeing this car in all its glory makes it instantly worth it 💙
WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS
In regards to future plans, Adam is looking to install a C-West front bumper, upgrade the brakes, and attempt to find HRE446 wheels (Which have been discontinued). Additionally, there will be many changes made under the hood as well 😉
As for now, the Toronto streets are soon to be covered in snow, and so the Skyline will be temporarily resting in hibernation mode. I am super excited to see what the car will look like in the future and I will definitely keep you guys posted for all the Fast & Furious fans out there!
We also did a little car photoshoot if you want to check out some of the other photos from that day!
