After the Q7 went electric a year ago it is now time for its sleeker brother to continue down the same path.

The newest addition to the Ingolstadt electrified line-up is the Audi Q8 60 TFSI e. The SUV is powered by a 3.0-liter petrol V6 which produces 340 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque! The same engine as the Q8 55 TFSI but with 50 Nm less. The Q8 also has an electric motor producing 136 horsepower giving the car an outstanding total output of 462 horses and a maximum of 700 Nm of torque!

With a good amount of horsepower and torque the hybrid powertrain brings the car from 0-100 in 5,4 seconds, comparing this with the Audi SQ8 doing 0-100 in 4,8 seconds makes it really is impressive!

The Audi Q8 60 TFSI e can travel entirely on electricity for about 45 km which isn't a lot looking at its competitors. For example, the BMW X5 45e Xdrive has an electric range of about 74 km, and the Mercedes GLE350de about 93 km, thatโ€™s a lot more!

Despite the lack of pure electric range, I must say that it may be one of the more attractive Plug-in Hybrids out there! Let me know down below

  • Pretty typical Audi design language and none the worse for all that. VAG seem intent on 'going electric', which as far as I'm concerned, is a very positive note. (OK, OK, I know you need a negative as well on an EV!)
