Back in 2009, Audi UK put on show the biggest selection of its motorsport and historic road car fleets. Significantly boosted by the acquisition of the auctioned David Sutton Motorsport (aka Historic Motorsport) museum Audis, the display of many iconic cars coincided with passing traffic slowing on the A4 elevated dual carriageway beside it.
Was it related? A serious eye-full of these iconic rally and race cars through the state of the art glass showroom windows was seemingly enough to get any casual motorist rubber necking to take it all in.
I wasted no time getting in there with (just) the camera phone, and it's safe to say it's never been as good since! The fleet lives on, and appears at events piecemeal, such as Goodwood #FoS, but never with as much impact as this. Was it the ultimate drive-by Audi Motorsport experience?
