The Audi R10 TDI is a lmp1 racecar from audi. It was produced from 2005 to 2008. The R10 was the first racecar to win the 24h of Le Mans with a diesel engine. This was the most ambitious and the most expensive project ever undertaken by Audi Sport. But it was not he first car competing at the 24h of Le Mans with a diesel engine. In 1949 the two brothers Jean and Jacques Delettrez started with their Delettrez Diesel. The car was powered by a 4395 cc 6-cylinder diesel engine but they couldn't finish the race because they ran out of diesel about half way into the race.
The R10 TDI is powered by a twinturbo V12 with 5.5l of engine displacement. The engine has 650hp and a topspeed of around 335km/h (208mph).
