Following the launch of the e-tron quattro SUV, Audi is readying their rival to the Tesla Model S and Porsche Taycan. This car is the e-tron GT and from a first glance, it looks like an electric version of the A7, which is already an excellent looking car.

The car will be revealed in full at the Los Angeles Motor Show later this month where it will be revealed to the public for the first time.

Audi have described the project like this: “The four-door prototype Audi e-tron GT concept interprets sportiness in a new, progressive way. With its fascinating design and a purely electric drive, it leads our Audi Sport performance brand confidently into the future. The sporty four-seater will be manufactured at Böllinger Höfe near Neckarsulm as of 2020. It proves that high performance and electromobility do not have to be mutually exclusive.”

The e-tron GT will be based on a similar platform architecture that the Porsche Taycan uses as the two cars share similar technologies. This means the two cars will have similar specs, meaning the e-tron GT will have roughly 600bhp and a range of at least 310 miles. The e-tron GT will also be the first production car to use an 800 Volt battery system to enable charging up to 350kW.

Full specs are expected to be revealed over the upcoming days when the car will be fully revealed at the LA Motor Show.
