Australian Grand Prix Is Set To Be Postponed Again

I guess we are starting 2021 on a not-so-good foot...

The 2021 Formula 1 season is due and set to begin on March 21st in the season opener, of Melbourne, Australia. However, just like the year 2020, COVID-19 seems to have different plans. It is most likely that the season-opening Australian Grand Prix will be postponed in 2021 again. This is not what F1 fans want to hear right now, even though we all wanted to start off 2021 on a good foot, it does not mean COVID-19 restrictions aren't going away. Once we saw how the 2021 season calendar had a more normal and usual F1 approach, we were all relaxed with the fact that Formula 1 is coming back to normal.

Now, we wonder if the 23-race schedule will ever happen, Australia was supposed to be the first running race of the 2020 season. Although, due to the Coronavirus it was postponed, and then canceled. As of now, many doubts have risen that the same will happen in 2021. We are all waiting patiently for the 2021 season to start, so we can see the Australian Grand Prix come to life again. Yet, that is now highly unlikely...

Australia has, and is still enforcing many strict traveling restrictions and many strict COVID-19 restrictions, and it is basically impossible for Australia to hold the GP. Now, with the world, and especially the United States of America rising in COVID-19 cases again, we aren't too sure of the arranged 23-race schedule. Rumors have been said that Australia might be set to be postponed later in the season, and they tried to figure out a 'biosphere' solution for F1, yet it's not working too well. If it is postponed or canceled it will cause a reshuffle in the 2021 season calendar.

Such as the 2020 calendar, the required postponing will cause a reshuffle of the 2021 season calendar. Furthermore, that will cause many set races to be reshuffled or even canceled. It is said that there are only a few slots available for such a weekend to happen. Which makes most fans very worried. The FIA and F1 will make an announcement and statement later in January.

Ticket sales have not yet started for the Australian street circuit at Albert Park. Many people think, and it is rumored that the race will be postponed this month, and we are all sitting on the edge of our seats waiting for this certain announcement. Let us hope that we can all watch the Australian GP on our televisions again...

  • Come on F1 seriously 😡,14 day quarantine ain’t bad, I had to 6 months of it and I assume it’s because they don’t want to quarantine the like the rest of the world and I say tough luck, Australia is one of the safest places to be right now with little cases in Melbourne so it’s not that difficult to do and if you do it later it’s going to be very cold

  • Well, if postponement of Oz and further Covid restrictions mean we get another race season like 2020, it might not be all bad news...
