Auto World puts their James Bond License to work
Here's another opportunity to add a 1:18 DBS to your collection
Aston Martin fans are now able to pre-order a 1:18 scale version of Mr. Bond's DBS from Quantum of Solace through Auto World. This looks to be exactly the same model offered by Ertl right before the brand abandoned scale cars for tractors under Tomy ownership. That's not a bad thing, I have the DBS from Ertl and it is a fantastic model of a beautiful and criminally underappreciated Aston. Not many of those models escaped the factory before Ertl operations shut down. Not only are the Ertl DBS models rare, they're sought after by both Aston Martin fans and James Bond fans alike. I paid close to what Auto World is asking for their new model, and mine was used without its box. Auto World's parent company acquired the license to product James Bond models back in June, 2019.
Look for this Auto World model to launch in March, but you can pre-order now through their webstore. I would definitely jump on the opportunity to get yourself a diecast metal, fully opening model of a modern Aston Martin classic. It isn't easy to spot in Auto World's photographs, but the only tie-in to James Bond this model has is a handgun in the open glovebox. Otherwise, it displays completely as a civilian DBS.
