Automotive Brands and the Future of the Car Industry

A slightly random ramble about car-ly things.

A fairly random discussion

Apologies for the randomness of this talk, but there were just a few things I wanted to get off my chest.

My thoughts on the direction of the car industry at the moment.

So! That's what I think. Well, those are my concerns at least. I'm really not sure what the future of the car industry is. What do you think?

  • I hadn’t thought of that, but yeah, autonomous cabs you hire for each trip may we’ll be the future... great... 😕

  • The masses will be carted around in autonomous cabs. Rich drive whatever propulsion technologies exist at said time.

  • I think there will always (at least for the FORESEEABLE future) be drivers cars, and whether or not that incudes a manual tranny isn't important. I think there will be more EVs and FCEVS. And about autonomy; There will most certainly be autonomous cars, but I think most of them will be public transport or car sharing vehicles. Restomod EVs are definitely going to be more common, though.

  • I believe the internal combustion engine will be a relic sooner then anyone imagined. Those of us that live for cars will be like those keeping horses. They won’t disappear, but they will become increasing difficult to fuel and maintain. I’d say we have about 20 years left of the ICE before it is purely a hobby.
