Axel Bassani will race again for Motocorsa Racing in the 2022 SBK Championship

In the 2021 season of the SBK World Chapionship, two riders competed for the victory of the trophy reserved for independent riders, namely the American Garrett Gerloff and the Italian Axel Bassani. At the end of the year it was the American who won the trophy thanks to a higher number of podiums, but his contender was also particularly good, finishing second with only 18 points behind.

Also thanks to the ninth place in the general classification, the Motocorsa team has decided to extend Bassani's hiring until 2022, entrusting him with their Ducati Panigale V4R again. It is the first time that the Italian driver has managed to have two consecutive seasons with the same team, having always changed them since his debut in 2016 Supersport World Championship.

Ducati Corse is following Axel's carrirera with great interest, evaluating his possible engagement if he should improve the results next season. Both Bassani and Lorenzo Mauri, Motocorse Racing team principal, are extremely optimistic and are seriously determined to win the cup reserved for independent riders.
