Before I start remember, I’ve got a TLDR at the bottom as my posts tend to run on but if you have the time then do give it a read!
I think I’m going to start making some more reviews when I can and some will be video reviews.
I’ve always wanted to be a YouTube (I know, quite cringe) but it’s always appealed but I’ve never really followed through. Over the past couple of years I’ve also got into cars, a lot. It’s only natural to put two and two together and make car related videos.
I’ll do more live post reviews like my Skoda Kodiaq but when possible I’ll do videos. The main thing that sparked this was listening to other people saying “there’s no time like the present”, they are right. I am aware that most of my posts and future videos will be quite bad but you’ve always got to start somewhere and build.
I’ve gained a somewhat large following on drivetribe (nearing 100) and I think that since quite a few people see my posts that I should start making more professional ones.
I will eventually start on YouTube but not quite yet. I’d like to get some opinions and start my early beginnings on drivetribe. This will help me gauge the response and maybe I’ll stop quite quickly if they are awful and return or keep going and try to improve.
My current experience with video/editing is near enough zero so don’t berate me too much.
Id like to end with a quote from James may on his video on drivetribe YouTube channel talking about getting into motoring journalism which has also helped spur my decision:
“If you want a crack at motoring journalism, join drivetribe”
“If you’ve got an idea and know how to express yourself you can do it.”
TLDR
I’m going to take a crack at motoring journalism, some videos and some reviews in posts.

I think you could be quite successful on YT, the hardest part is starting from 0 but with a large and interested following on DT I think it's a good headstart
Good luck! I can write a story decently but wouldn’t have the confidence to do a video - hope it goes well. 😉
As far as editing is concerned,if you use a laptop there an app called open shot. It free and very easy to use. I think YouTube would be a good path for you. So as of now learn some editing skills.
