22nd October, 2019 (IST): Tesla's most radical release yet was launched 30 minutes ago in California near the Space X factory.

The event was half an hour of showcasing the unmatched capabilities of the Cybertruck which included a tug of war with the Ford F150 and a drag race with the Porsche 911.

The Cybertruck is 231.7 in length, 79.8 meters wide and stands 75.0 meters above the ground. It can accomodate 6 people.

The Exoskeleton

The chassis is made of ultra-hard 30X cold-rolled stainless steel. It has the same materials used in the Tesla starships.

The interiors

The interiors are minimalistic and very Tesla. If anything, they look like they are straight of a star-wars movie. There is no dashboard. There are no clusters.

There is no real steering wheel. All the joystick does is control the truck's lateral movement. All other functionalities will be controlled by the single large screen in the centre.

Performance capabilities

The Cybertruck will beat any other pickup truck in the market today. Period.

The event showed a pre-recorded video of a tug of war between the Ford F-150 and Tesla. No prizes for guessing who won.

The Tesla also went head to head with the latest Porsche 911 in a drag race. The video shows the 911 getting a headstart but the Cybertruck is able to catch up and leave the Porsche behind.

The complete Specs

The Cybertruck will have 3 variants: The single motor RWD, the dual motor AWD and the tri Motor AWD.

The single motor RWD will be good for 250 miles. It will do 0-60 in 6.5 seconds and have a top speed of 110 mph. It will be able to tow 7500 lbs. Prices start at $39,900.

The dual motor AWD will have a range of 300 miles. 0-60 will be done in 4.5 seconds. The top speed will be 120 mph. The towing capacity will be 10,000 lbs. It will be available for $49,900.

The real party piece is the range topping tri motor which comes with AWD and will have a range of 500 miles. 0-60 is covered in 2.9 seconds which puts it the same category as most supercars in the market today. Towing capacity for the tri motor variant is quoted at 14000 lbs and it will max out at 130 mph. The price you pay for this super-robot on wheels is $69,900.

All prices are before government grants.

Autopilot comes standard

Yep you read that right. All variants of the Cybertruck will have autopilot as standard. Along with Autopilot, the truck will also have autopark and trailer docking.

The Cybertruck is available for preorder with a $100 deposit
