Bentley has announced it will come back to race at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on the 27th of June for the β€˜third and final time’ in order to chase one final record.

The plan is to enter a GT3 version of its Continental GT to race up the 1,440 metre ascent as Bentley aims for a third record on the 12.42-mile course.

Previous records held by Bentley include the one in 2018 when a Bentley Bentayga set the record for the fastest ascent by an SUV with a time of 10min 49.902sec. Then in 2019, the Continental GT set the record for a production car with a time of 10min 18.488sec.

The man behind these records was New Zealander, Rhys Millen, best known for being a Formula D drifting champion and two-time race winner in the Global Rallycross Championship.

It is unknown who will be driving to attempt this record, but more information is to be revealed imminently.
