Bentley straight-up lied about how fast the Flying Spur actually is

They've done a Porsche and underestimated its car's power and speed.

Bentleys are often referred to as being the 'drivers Rolls Royce' and that is true to some extent. It's the sort of car one can travel in and be in total luxury, but it also has that sporty edge to it, much like a Rolex Submariner.

This means power is quite important to the driver, but clearly not as important to Bentley themselves as they have underestimated the Flying Spur's speed by quite a bit as the video below will demonstrate.

Bentley claims its Flying Spur produces 542 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque from its V8 engine mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. This, according to Bentley, allows it to get from 0-60 mph in 4 seconds flat, and on to a top speed of 198 mph. But as you can see, it does much better than that.

    • Is this when you’re going to claim your car has 50hp when we all know it’s much less?

  • Wow...it’s 0.02 of a second faster 0-100kph than claimed. Much faster!

  • Unless I’m really missing something, the video shows the claimed acceleration and doesn’t get anywhere near the 320kph top speed. So what am I missing?
