Bentley 'Unifying Spur' to debut at upcoming MI.MO Milan Car Show
Milan, 10-13 June, 2021
A few days ago Bentley unveiled the 'Unifying Spur', a one-off Continental GT designed to promote inclusivity and painted with the colours of rainbow courtesy of Bentley head of design Rich Morris and Bentley Mulliner Collections. This visually enticing Bentley will make its world debut on June 10-13 at Milan's 'MIMO' car show (Milano-Monza Open-Air Motor Show).
From June 10-13, 63 auto makers (including Ferrari, Porsche, Pagani and Bugatti) will welcome travellers, car fans and journalists with car-themed installations in the heart of Milan, from Piazza Duomo to the 'Castello Sforzesco'. You'll also be given the chance to drive some of the latest hybrids and EVs around the 'Castello' (castle).
Underneath the rainbow-painted bonnet, you'll find a 4.0-litre V8, delivering 550 hp and propelling the Unifying Spur from 0 to 60 in around 4 seconds and on to a top speed of 198 mph.
The 'Milano-Monza Open Air Motor Show' (or 'MI.MO' to its mates) replaces the old 'Salone Auto del Parco Valentino Torino'. Old wine, new bottles, as they say. The 'Parco Valentino' car show was widely successful (700,000 visitors in 2019) thanks to its unique format (free for all, all cars displayed inside a public park) and the organizers decided to move to a new location (Milan) and change the name after the fifth edition in 2019. The first edition of MI.MO was scheduled for last year but, as you can imagine, it was postponed.
I'm not sure what to expect from it but I just got back to Italy for the summer and I'll be there. Should you want to visit/attend the show, bear in mind that Italy's borders are technically open to EU/EEA and UK citizens and residents and if you happen to live in the Schengen zone, there are no border checks. See you there if you can make it.
