Bentley's Flying Spur just got even better for 2022
The British luxury saloon just got a whole lot more interesting for 2022.
Ever since the Flying Spur came out back in 2005 it has dominated the fast luxury saloon market. Bentley has consitently brought out better versions of it and the variant for 2022 is no different.
Coming to the new Flying Spur is a whole range of new features including new standard technology, more comfort, and more exterior colour options.
In terms of new tech, the new car comes with some new gadgets which are now a standard option. Bentley's new City Specification now comes as standard for the 2022 Flying Spur which adds traffic sign recognition, hands-free boot opening, a top-view camera, welcome lighting automatic dimming mirrors, and an air purifier.
As for added colour options, the Flying Spur now comes with a Cambrian Grey option (pictured). Inside, the car also comes with a few new interior options which include Liquid Amber, Dark Burr Walnut and Tamo Ash wood finishes. These veneers are painted with three extremely thin layers of lacquer and are only 0.003 inches thick.
The comfort element of the car has been upgraded through the use of upgraded components which improve sound insulation to eliminate unwanted noise and vibration in the cabin. As you can see in these photos, it has been maliciously tested using computers.
Bentley's Acoustic Engineerm Simon Noble said: "By using Virtual Prototyping, Bentley succeeded in what we set out to do - optimize every component of the Flying Spur firstly in the virtual world before we create physical parts. At the same time, we have reduced physical prototypes, creating the quietest in-cabin experience for our customers. Virtual Prototyping means fewer prototypes have to be built, and we reduce our testing mileage. It also helps influence the design and engineering of the car at an early stage and affords significant benefits in the extensive testing phase."
