Yes is generic, but it is an interesting conversation to have. What is the best bike of the decade? We are just a few days into 2020 and can look back on the 2010's at some really great bikes. This list is certainly not going to be complete. These are just a random person's thoughts on some impressive bikes bestowed upon us throughout the last decade.
Kawasaki Ninja H2R (2015)
The fastest bike of the decade. While the R model is not street legal it claims a top speed of 249MPH. This impressive feat is achieved by a supercharged 998cc engine pushing out 300hp. The street legal H2 has to make due with a meager 230hp to shift around. The H2 itself has been around since 1972 however this R model was birthed in 2015.
Ducati Panigale V4R (2018) & Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory (2019)
As I have explored in another article, these two bikes have take the speed war to another level with the 1100cc capacity. The bikes have 200+hp being paired with race bike handling. With the top spec tech packages we see what bikes are truly able to do. The technical marvel we have been given by these bikes is truly amazing and gives great hope of things to come. These are the pinnacle of what bikes can be at this point in time.
Honda CB650R (2019)
The CB650R debuted at EICMA in 2018 and showed us the tried and true method of a 650cc class naked bike didn't have to be entirely utilitarian. The 649cc engine packs a fun punch but doesn't allow you to go completely insane. It might be a little pricier than some of its counterparts but it has some premium parts that merit the extra cash. Plus who wouldn't wake up and be disappointed getting to look at this bike in their garage.
Lightning LS218 (2014)
The 200hp all electric LS218 claims a top speed of 218mph. This puts it at the fastest production bike currently. It comes with a host of tech and innovative parts. This is by far the most impressive electric bike we have seen to date. Zero and others might produce more, but Lightning has given us the most technologically advanced bike of the decade. This also gives us hope that electric bikes can still look good and perform well.
KTM 1290 Super Adventure R (2015)
1290 Super Adventure R
This is a bike that can do it all. It has the glorious 1301cc engine and a solid electronics package. It also packs WP suspension and Brembo brakes. This make for a great all-rounder that also allows for some fun. The R model might not have the same off road abilities as the standard or S but it will still do most off road you would be willing to do on an almost $20k bike.
