Best of Music Tribe (October 2020)
The first of hopefully many more Best of Music Tribe posts!
October 2020 has actually been a pretty good month for content on Music Tribe! People have posted all sorts of cool stuff on here so, in some ways, it was kind of hard to choose a winner! A clear winner did eventually end up revealing itself to me though and there are some really great articles as honourable mentions this month that you should definitely take some time to read.
The post of the month and winner of 250 Tribecoins is...
Valentina Zanola is this month's winner and the inaugural winner of the Best of Music Tribe with this fantastic article talking about Jethro Tull's seminal album Aqualung! After reading what she has to say about it, it's an album you'll definitely want to listen to all the way through. Well done Valentina, enjoy your 250 Tribecoins!
Honourable mentions
Did you know that the muscle car had a huge part in giving birth to rock'n'roll music? Well, Srijan Gupta explains the role of good old American muscle in the development of what is now one of the most popular genres of music in this brilliant article. This could have been a contender for article of the month but, because it wasn't posted in MusicTribe, it unfortunately doesn't count. That doesn't mean that I can't feature it in here though as an honourable mention that you should definitely give a read!
One of the most consistent members of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers over the years has been its eccentric and enigmatic guitarist John Frusciante. This article by Jack Hodges is a great look at his history both in and out of the Chilli Peppers and it's one you should definitely read if you're a fan of the band!
As you all no doubt know by now, fans of music the world over have been paying tributes to the legendary Eddie Van Halen following his death. Cam C's tribute to the Van Halen guitarist comes in the form of a custom livery on Forza Horizon 4! It's a great rendition of the signature distinctive look of his most famous guitar and it's something Eddie definitely would have appreciated as he was a huge car guy himself!
Another one by Valentina Zanola, this piece takes a dive into Iron Maiden's classic song 'Fear of the Dark'. It's one of my personal favourite Iron Maiden songs and it's Bruce Dickinson at his lyrical best! Unsurprisingly, it's such a fan favourite song that it's one of the few that the band consistently play live.
Yet another great piece by Valentina Zanola (I have a feeling she's going to be appearing a lot more in these monthly posts!), she takes a look at what she feels are the most iconic album covers ever made. There's some great classic albums on this list and I'm sure that you'll have some opinions of your own about them that you can discuss in the comments!
Have you listened to Busta Rhymes' first solo album in 8 years yet? Well, Alessandro Renesis has and he decided to review it! It's a 22 track monster of an album and if you're a fan of the legendary New York rapper, it's one you should definitely check out.
Finally, here's a very interesting one that was originally posted in The Drivetribe Jukebox about the most mysterious song in the world. Nobody knows who wrote it and nobody exactly knows when it was recorded. Unfortunately, it isn't eligible for TribeCoins as it wasn't posted in MusicTribe initially, but it's definitely worth a read!
