RM Sotheby's made the correct call and moved their Palm Beach auction to a completely online format. It is still the high caliber classic car auction you would expect from RM Sotheby's, just with a whole lot of social distancing. You can log-on to their online only auction site and bid on everything from a yellow Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta to a Lamborghini tractor and never even have to change out of your sweat pants.

This auction caught my eye though, Lot 265, and I would certainly be throwing in a bid if I had the coin. Up for bid is a classic 1966 Plymouth Barracuda drag car, affectionately named "Leggin' it". This old school drag strip queen packs a 383 V8 mated to a 727 automatic transmission. The side exhaust spits fire from behind the front tires and is well equipped with a roll cage, racing slicks, and a Simpson racing harness. All that bundled in a beautiful patina package that bleeds red, white, and blue. Check the auction page for a video of this thing throwing down a 12.55 quarter-mile run.

But wait, there's more! Travel to your favorite vintage racing events in style with a matching 1965 Dodge C-500 Hauler. It's got the same bars and stripes paint scheme as the Barracuda, powered by a 318 V8 and 4-speed manual transmission. Safely load your dragster with the built in winch and enough tool boxes to carry whatever your pit stall needs.

As I write this, there is about a day an hour left on the auction clock. RM Sotheby's has set this online-only auction with staggered end times to space out the closing lots. The bid sits at $37,500 now, but is estimated to take in between $75-$100k. That's a bargain if you ask me, for two vehicles that need to remain a set. Get your bid in before the digital hammer drops on 3/26!
