It seems BMW wasn't kidding when it revealed the 4 Concept last year. Whilst most of the car actually looked rather good, the front-end took everyone by surprise. The grills on the LCI 7-Series and X7 are pretty grotesque, but the snout on the 4 Concept took it to the next level (picture below).

New leaked pics have confirmed our worst fears. Not only is the grill actually huge, but it's also somewhat losing it's traditional 'kidney' design. BMW started merging their separated kidneys recently, but the design could still be easily made out as the openings were bordered with a chrome outline. The spy shot of the new 4 though, shows the line between the two grills is simply black plastic, so it just looks like one big, giant hole. The rest of the front end seems inspired by the 8-Series, so that'll be easier to digest.

The partially revealed rear-end holds no surprises. It seems like a mashup of the design cues on the F30 Series and the 8-Series, with some chiseled vents on the lower sides of the bumper.
Judging by the fact this seems like a production version, expect the new 4-Series to be revealed soon, with the worldwide public debut possibly at the Geneva Motor Show next month.
