Leaked pictures of next-generation BMW M models have circulated recently. Now, BMW M president Markus Flasch has confirmed that the pictures show the new M3 and the new M4. He acknowledged that the “the pictures didn’t leak on purpose,” but that they do show pre-production versions of the models.
It looks like the M3 will escape the polarizing big-mouth grill design that the M4 will feature. He also confirmed reports on the specifics of the cars, adding that “We haven’t officially confirmed it, but I can tell you we are very likely to offer rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, manual and automatic for both models.” While there's still some time to wait for the new M models, we now know what they'll look like.
