Introduction

BMW has released the M2 Competition, which is a more track focused, lighter version of the standard M2. This new version aims to make the M2, the ultimate driving machine.

Performance

The car has an increase in power by 40%, this takes the car from 370 horsepower to 410. There is also an increase in torque, which is now 550nm instead of the old car's 465nm. This makes the car accelerate from 0-60 in 4.2 seconds (With Dual-Clutch Gearbox). The car has also been given a revised and better cooling system, to make sure the engine works in all conditions. There is also a new "M Active Differential" which gives the car better control and traction, which gives the car increased performance on a track.

With the Active M differential, drivers can not only drive their vehicles faster, but they can do so with considerably more driving pleasure behind the wheel.

Exterior

The car has had some exterior tweaks to make the new version look more aggressive and increase aerodynamics. The new Competition has a new gloss black grille and a bigger front apron to give the new intercooler more room and to differentiate the Competition from the standard M2. The M2 Competition now sits on 19" M-Light Alloy Wheels to make the car more lightweight.

Any Other Info?

The car has now been given six-piston calipers, which will give it more stopping power under braking. The car has some new compound brake discs, which helps with weight savings. This version will be replacing the outgoing, standard M2.

Final Thoughts

I personally think this is a great successor to the standard M2, and it will be a great car when it it comes into showrooms.

A bRILLIANT CAR.
