Some people say this, so do I. Well not essentially THE BEST but ONE OF THE BEST.
Originally produced to complete with the Mercedes-Benz 190E W201 in the DTM Championship, B.M.W. manufactured 5,000 of them to meet the homologation laws.
Initially, the M1’s inline-6 was to be fitted in her but as the E30 chassis weren’t big enough, they had to remove two cylinders thus giving her a naturally aspirated inline-4. As soon as the M3 came into existence, B.M.W. miraculously started winning loads of races.
Everything was great, the car was ready to get to the race tracks but they had one problem-
So they did it in order to qualify although they had no expectations from her. But as soon as she hit the market, BANG 5,000 SOLD! INCREASING DEMAND! THERE GOES ANOTHER 5,000! ANOTHER 3,000! Despite of their low expectations from her, she performed brilliantly!
Due to the demand, they came up with two new variants of the M3: 'M3 Evo II' and the 'M3 Sport Evolution'. They also brought the concept of a pickup M3. However, we couldn't ever see them being driven on the GERMAN FREKIN' AUTOBAHNS!
