BMW Will Make an Electric Hot Hatch with 400 Horsepower
BMW's new electric M140e hot hatch will make 400 horsepower
BMW has ambitious plans to debut 25 different electric vehicles by 2023. Of those, 12 are expected to be plug-in hybrids and 13 are expected to be fully electric. That means that there will certainly be an hybrid-electric hatchback. And this one certainly looks enticing - the M140e hot hatch with 400 horsepower is on that list.
While BMW won't make a 1M car for its new front-wheel-drive hatchback, this hybrid M-car is expected for 2020. It will have a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing about 300-hp working with an 80-hp electric motor. The combined output will be about 400 horsepower and 369-lb/ft of torque. It should be able to travel somewhere between 50-70 miles fully on electricity.
BMW hopes to drum up interest in its new electric vehicles with this new hot hatch.
