Volkswagen make some fine cars, don't get me wrong but the T-Cross is just a bit...well, boring. Up until recently, the T-Cross has been powered by a 1.0-litre petrol and a 1.6-litre diesel which is bad news for anyone who likes to have more power than a lawnmower.
But GOOD NEWS! The T-Cross can now be had with a 1.5-litre petrol engine which produces a mighty 150bhp. This engine is found across many VAG products so it's hardly an innovating engine. So, how fast is it? Answer is simple; not very. 0-60mph is done in 8.5 seconds and onto a top speed of 124mph. It's all a bit pedestrian for us.
The engine is only available on the SEL and R-Line trims so you have to spend more to be slightly less bland. VW seems to be on a SUV offensive at the moment, with more to come such as the T-Roc R and the T-Roc cabriolet, the latter is probably one of the most pointless cars ever to be made.
I suppose you want to know how much it costs right? Well, the SEL starts at £24,910 and the R-Line starts at £26,810. To put that into comparison, a Polo GTI Plus starts at £23,520 and that is a much more powerful car, is about the same size as a T-Roc, plus it's cooler. Long story short, get a Polo.
