Today the Eifel Grand Prix Qualifications were finally in session, with little to no practice and very cold weather, the driver's struggled with their cars a little, with sloppy moves and drives from them today. This morning it was announced that Nico Hulkenberg was to take part in Qualifying and the Grand Prix , replacing the ill feeling Lance Stroll, who was not in the right state to drive. As Stroll did not take part in third practice, there was speculations that Nico would replace him. And they were true, Nico Hulkenberg is set to replace Stroll this weekend at the Eifel Grand Prix. Originally, Nico was supposed to a reporter today, but he got the call in the morning that they needed him right away.

Sadly, the German failed to secure Q2, as he didn't have enough time to get used to the car, or find the grip as he secured last place in P20.

As the cold weather conditions effected most of the cars and drivers performances today, Bottas was able to get pole position, making it his first here at the Nürburgring. Keeping Mercedes streak this year of every single pole positions in every race so far. With Valterris teammate, 6 time World Champion Lewis Hamilton down in P2 and with Max Verstappen bringing in a P3.

Furthermore, a very surprising Charles Leclerc in P4, very unexpected due to Ferraris poor performance this year. As Charles secured an amazing lap, with accommodation's that also helped, such as the new upgrades for both Ferrari's on the SF1000 for the German GP. Vettel describing the upgrades as "only had the upgrades in the afternoon, but not a big difference, which is what we expected". Sadly, compared to his teammate he was much better, as Nürburgring's pervious and last winner, Sebastian Vettel failed to secure Q3 in his home land, with a disappointing P11 and a quiet radio from the German.

"It's such a nice feeling when you get it on the last lap! It was tricky today with a short practice and getting the tyres spot on"

Today's Eifel Grand Prix Qualifying made for an interesting one, as we focused on the drivers performance due to the very freezing weather of Germany, it showed how much the tire choices can effect performance and the race tomorrow. With barely to none practices, it might cause an engrossing race at the Nürburgring on Sunday. As we return to some of Formula 1's Old school tracks, we can expect only fascinating races form here on.
