BOTTAS WINS THE SOCHI GRAND PRIX, AS PENALTIES COST LEWIS THE RACE - RUSSIAN GP
Valterri Bottas wins the Sochi Grand Prix. With penalty's showering Hamilton, costing him the win!
Lights out! And a difficult race for Hamilton, as a win slipped away from him. Incidents on the first lap as Carlos crashed, with Lance crashing while taking a hit from Charles. Stroll added that it was caused by "Leclerc's sloppy racing". No penalty was given to Leclerc, and Stroll wonders why no penalty was given to the sloppy move. Lance Stroll also crashed out of Mugello at the last race, and Carlos Sainz had a minor crash during the Russian GP Practice, but with minor damage.
TWO 5 Second Practice Start Penalties for Hamilton, which put him behind Bottas in the lead. As Valterri took the win, following with Max Verstappen, being the first Red Bull on the podium in Sochi, ever. Then with Hamilton in third, Sergio following in fourth, an amazing race from Checo. And the Honey badger Danny Ric, topping out the top five.
Lance Stroll, Crash 2020 Russia
'They're trying to stop me", "This is ridiculous" As Lewis Hamilton reacts to his TWO 5 second penalties, as well with Daniel following with a penalty as well. With a nice move around his teammate that caused a lock up, with Daniel passing the boundaries. Daniel reacted with a positive attitude when he found out about the penalty saying "Its ok, Ill just drive faster". Going up to take fifth, as Ricciardo proves he is starting to get the hang of his Renault. Sergio preforming some great moves today around Ricciardo, which lead him to fourth. Charles Leclerc topping out in a surprising P6, with his 4 - Time World Champion Teammate, Sebastian Vettel back in a depressing P13.
With Bottas sending a strong message to all his critics, the fin finally gets a victory since the first race in Austria, 2020. With Verstappen and Hamilton on the podium, the Russian Grand Prix made an interesting race, not the most exiting race to watch, but it wasn't as bad. With another week off next week, Nürburgring and the "Iconic" tracks are coming up, and we can only expect exhilarating races from now on.
Bottas closed off by saying "Never give up. It's a good day. It's nice to get another win as it's been a while and I now need to keep the momentum going"
