Lights out! And a difficult race for Hamilton, as a win slipped away from him. Incidents on the first lap as Carlos crashed, with Lance crashing while taking a hit from Charles. Stroll added that it was caused by "Leclerc's sloppy racing". No penalty was given to Leclerc, and Stroll wonders why no penalty was given to the sloppy move. Lance Stroll also crashed out of Mugello at the last race, and Carlos Sainz had a minor crash during the Russian GP Practice, but with minor damage.

TWO 5 Second Practice Start Penalties for Hamilton, which put him behind Bottas in the lead. As Valterri took the win, following with Max Verstappen, being the first Red Bull on the podium in Sochi, ever. Then with Hamilton in third, Sergio following in fourth, an amazing race from Checo. And the Honey badger Danny Ric, topping out the top five.

'They're trying to stop me", "This is ridiculous" As Lewis Hamilton reacts to his TWO 5 second penalties, as well with Daniel following with a penalty as well. With a nice move around his teammate that caused a lock up, with Daniel passing the boundaries. Daniel reacted with a positive attitude when he found out about the penalty saying "Its ok, Ill just drive faster". Going up to take fifth, as Ricciardo proves he is starting to get the hang of his Renault. Sergio preforming some great moves today around Ricciardo, which lead him to fourth. Charles Leclerc topping out in a surprising P6, with his 4 - Time World Champion Teammate, Sebastian Vettel back in a depressing P13.

With Bottas sending a strong message to all his critics, the fin finally gets a victory since the first race in Austria, 2020. With Verstappen and Hamilton on the podium, the Russian Grand Prix made an interesting race, not the most exiting race to watch, but it wasn't as bad. With another week off next week, Nürburgring and the "Iconic" tracks are coming up, and we can only expect exhilarating races from now on.

VALTTERI: "Once I was in clean air I felt that the pace was pretty awesome and that I could control everything.

Bottas closed off by saying "Never give up. It's a good day. It's nice to get another win as it's been a while and I now need to keep the momentum going"

  • It’s amateur hour in the Lewis camp at the moment. Or maybe he thinks he can do the hell he wants without consequences.

  • LeClerc was right not to get a penalty, totally Stroll's fault-not like he didn't know the Ferrari was there... Talking of penalties, Hammy got himself two for doing the same thing twice - something a driver with his experience should know not to do, his own silly mistakes costing him again and then he has the nerve to moan about it - he should have had two separate 5 second penalties rather than one 10 second one - might teach him the lesson. In contrast, Danny Ric, possibly caught out by Ocon not making it the easiest pass ever, got a penalty, accepted it and got on with the job - much better example to fans/junior drivers etc. It was a better race than it was probably expected to be and good to see the other teams having a go rather thn just following the Mercs home for a change.

    • I agree, Hamilton was whining while daniel moved on and excepted it, which makes him a bette role model. Hamilton should know by now to not make the same mistake and to not make it TWICE. And he also didn’t take responsibility for his actions...

    • To be fair his engineers told him it was legit to do and he has done this at races before

  • Valteri would have won anyways without Hamilton's penalties looking at the times.
