Brad Jones Unconscious after a Crash at Brands Hatch
At the third round of BSB action at Brands Hatch on Saturday the BSB rookie, Brad Jones, suffered a head injury and was airlifted to hospital.
-UPDATE ON BRAD: 25/07/2021-
Following on from my article yesterday BSB and MSVR have released a statement about the well being of BSB rookie, Brad Jones.
The 23 year old BMW rider crashed coming out of Clark Curve on the opening lap of the first Brands Hatch race this weekend. The race was immediately red flagged to allow the medical staff onsite to tend to him.
Once the medical staff arrived to Brad they discovered that he was unconscious, he was then moved to the medical centre at Brands where he remained until he was airlifted to Kings College Hospital in London. It is important to note that Brad was still unconscious when he was airlifted away from the circuit.
BSB released a statement about Brad's condition, it read: "Brad Jones (iForce Lloyd & Jones BMW)) crashed on the opening lap of the first Bennetts British Superbike Championship race at Clark Curve (Brands Hatch).
The race was immediately red flagged and he was attended to by trackside and vehicle medical teams.
The rider was unconscious at the scene & transferred to the circuit medical centre for further treatment.
He has been evacuated by helicopter to Kings College Hospital, London with a head injury. He remains unconscious."
I will provide more information once it has been released.
But in the mean time I am praying for Brad and his family, hopefully he can pull through as he is such a talented and nice bloke with a great future ahead of him!
