What in the world happened to car styling?

Ok seriously, what happened? For 100 years cars had style and a soul and suddenly we are driving in glorified rectangles.

Firstly, what happened to fenders ? in the past every car had its own fashionable fenders, this made the cars seem lower then they where and made them look, well, better. Now a days the only car with fenders is the Chrysler pt cruiser... and don't get me started on that one. The prettiest cars in the world got their tittles mostly because of their fenders. Take the Ferrari P3, in my opinion the prettiest car ever, but thats is because of its fenders.

And then we get to the back. Old cars where made so everyone driving behind them, because they are so slow, doesn't get mad because they are so beautiful. Now a days there is nothing to look at.

So in conclusion, car designers, "GET YOUR S**T TOGETHER!" In the meantime though of us who have... eyes, have only one solution: Get and old car.

What do you think is the prettiest car ever made?

  • Toyota 200 GT is the prettiest car ever made, though your choice above is glorious as well. Actually, there are so many to choose from -or rather were, up to a point when suddenly there just weren't any. I mean even Ferraris aren't pretty anymore. And bud, I have been shouting this same topic from the rafters for years. Glad to hear I'm not alone.

  • It's not completely the designers' fault. It's all the regulations. Ride height, where the headlights can be, wheelbase distances. The reason the Jaguar F-type looks so good from behind is because as the designer of that car put it, "The back of the car is the one place left where you're free to innovate"
