Brun Motorsport's 5 car effort for the 1989 24 Hour of Le Mans
5 car effort from a team may seem like a lot these days. But back in the Group C era, it was not an uncommon sight to see multiple cars per team thanks to the popularity of WSC and the quite 'affordable' racing formula that enabled multiple teams to enter top class endurance racing. This year, Le Mans will see only 6 top-class LMP1 cars, just one more than what a private racing team managed to campaign in the golden days of endurance racing. Yes, nostalgia does over-glorify the past, but I can't deny I do want to see a packed top class racing grid at Le Mans again.
