Bugatti unveiled Chiron Pur Sport with a 1.9-meter spoiler

It's been a long time since any production model had such a massive and huge spoiler.

The new Bugatti models are extremely closely guarded. It is very rare to get any information before the premiere. When a new car has its premiere cancelled, the public still does not even know about the car's existence. This was the case recently with two models that Bugatti revealed after 5 years and one after 12 years.

Nevertheless, today we have a new variety of Chiron for you, which was supposed to be at the Geneva Motor Show. Bugatti has just shown the first pictures and specifications of its newest child - Chiron Pur Sport.

The car has a slightly revised look and improved aerodynamics. At the front there is a new front bumper with larger horseshoe grille and splitter, and at the rear there is a huge 1.9 meter spoiler that generates "serious amounts of downforce". All elements are naturally made of carbon fibre.

As you can guess, the drive unit remained the same and did not undergo even the smallest modifications. It is still an 8-litre W16 with four turbochargers with a total output of 1500 hp (1103 kW). The maximum rev range has been increased by 200 rpm, the gearbox has been reprogrammed and now the gear ratios are now 15% closer. This is to improve the dynamics and response time during a sudden change of pace.

The Bugatti engineers have worked on the suspension a little bit and as a result there is 65% stiffer front and 33% stiffer rear. The Chiron Pur Sport is equipped with lightweight Aero wheels, 20" in front and 21" in the rear. Compared to the Chiron base rims, these rims are 16 kg lighter. Lighter brake components and a titanium exhaust system are also on board, making the "Pur Sport" a total of 19 kg lighter than a regular model.

The Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport will be produced in a limited edition of 16 copies and production will start in the second half of 2020. The price list of the new model starts at 3.2 million euros excluding taxes.

Due to the cancelled Geneva Motor Show, the public launch of the new model is unknown. It will probably not take place until June during the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
