Build what you can with what you have at the time
Did I want a 4 door? hell no. did i want a ford? double hell no. have i built better since? oh yeah! it's still one of my favorites though.
Every Wheelman starts somewhere. This car was not my beginning, but it was a milestone for me. It wasn't something I wanted. It wasn't a brand I liked. I didn't have the proper equipment, or budget to do it right. Don't give a shit. I did it anyway. I have built tons of better cars since, but this one still holds a place in my heart. It needed a lot of work. I sprayed it with cheap paint, shot from a budget gun, outside, with a worn out compressor. I found the tires in a junk yard. A couple small pieces from a local parts store. A ton of work later and I was rolling. Just because it is not your dream car doesn't mean you shouldn't build it. I have made so many memories in this yellow beast and none of them would have happened if I passed it up. The availability of old cars that are in a price range for a younger person are few and far between. Just because its not the Chevelle, GTO, or Cuda you wanted is not a good excuse to pass up a build. Put the lead foot down, one hand on the wheel, and the smile is automatic. It doesn't matter what the badge says. Give it a try.
Mark SchumacherRock what you got. Burn out what you can. Don't stand in an empty driveway thinking about what could have been.
