Cadillac's 2020 models will all have one big feature
Disappointed that Santa didn't bring you a touch screen for your ride? Cadillac has taken note, and not only will they grant your Christmas wish, but they'll also give you double the amount of screen time.
Launching in February 2020, Cadillac are ditching the traditional dashboard and gauge cluster for a colossal 38 inch, OLED display. The new display is said to have double the pixel density of a 4k television, and is approximately six times larger than an iPhone 11 Pro Max.
Screens are becoming more prevalent in new vehicles as manufacturers find more ways to use exterior cameras. It's expected Cadillac's new OLED screen will be predominately used to display vehicle operating information as well as recording vital data.
Cadillac tweeted out a very dimly-lit preview of their new screen which will be unveiled in February 2020 and available on all 2021 models of the Escalade.
There is no word on how customizable the screen will be, or whether Cadillac will include some 1980's digital dashboard inspired skins with their new display. (I'll take the Lancia Orca option please).
But if a new Caddy is a bit rich for your budget right now, you could always console yourself with this beautiful model, from an age when car designers were really allowed to indulge their creativity.
