CAFE' RACER 2019: FROM RUSSIA TO AUSTRIA, PASSING THROUGH INDIA
2019 is running out and to spend Christmas Eve properly I propose some of the most interesting cafe racers produced this year.
TIMOKHIN CUSTOM DESIGN FAST RACER
Extremely interesting is the Triumph Thruxton 900 "Fast Racer" assembled in May by the Russian tuner Timokhin Custom Design based in Moscow, which built it on commission of a pilot of the VKS (Russian aerospace forces).
The bike has been equipped with a new aerodynamic fairing with a front air intake similar to that of modern fighter jets and both new sports suspension and high-performance Brembo disc brakes have been equipped.
The 900 twin-cylinder engine was also updated by installing a new exhaust system with stainless steel tailpipe and K&N air filters.
MEAN GREEN CUSTOMS STREET 750
In July, the Mumbai-based Indian company Mean Green Customs created one of the few cafe racers based on Harley-Davidson Street 750.
The V-Twin 750 Revolution X engine has been equipped with a new stainless steel exhaust system and several aluminum superstructures have been added, such as a windshield installed above the new handlebar of smaller dimensions than the original.
The standard star rims have been changed to spoke models while the saddle has been replaced with a new handcrafted one-piece model mounted on a shortened rear frame.
VAGABUND GARAGE V12
The V12 built by the Austrian Vagabund Garage based on a 1994 BMW R100RT is minimalist.
The 980 twin-cylinder Boxer engine has not been modified but every superstructure has been eliminated to limit weight.
Some fiberglass components have been introduced such as the front fork cover, the instrumentation support and the housing for the new LED headlight.
To better adapt to the new configuration, the fork has been reduced in size and a smaller rear frame has been mounted to accommodate the new single-seater leather saddle.
Of the three I find the Fast Racer built by Timokhin Custom Design extremely pornographic, but which one do you prefer?
