The RS 660 was unveiled in a traditional Aprilia colour scheme, as well as the brand new Acid Gold livery, which was kept secret prior to the launch.

The bike’s dynamic features include a tight frame and the exciting performance of the new 100hp twin-cylinder engine.

Scaysbrook, who just happened to be in Monterey for the American presentation, couldn’t resist jumping on board at one of America’s most famous race tracks. It provided the perfect opportunity to put the new Aprilia through its paces.

A bike which is designed for everyday fun on the road and for weekend sport and leisure riding, the 2021 Aprilia RS 660 also provided unexpected thrills at every track test, thanks to its light weight and agile performance characteristics.

The Aprilia RS 660 has been one of the most anxiously awaited motorcycles since its first appearance, as a concept, in November 2018, when it was revealed as a brand new idea of sportiness.

It was designed to not be bound strictly to power specs, but defined by the ratio between exuberant and easy-to-manage engine performance, a chassis architecture par excellence and the light weight of the bike.

Now, less than two years from that first appearance, the RS 660 is a unique motorbike, offering a little over 74kW, with a weight of just 183kg. It’s attractive, accessible, with highly technological content, taking the competition to bikes in higher categories.

It is a fun and enjoyable bike, capable of providing just as many thrills on the road as on the occasional track outing.

The Aprilia RS 660 brings back the everyday pleasure and fun of a full-fairing sport bike with a semi-handle bar that exploits the dynamic qualities of perfect chassis architecture, combined with the exuberant performance of an entirely new parallel twin-cylinder.

It’s paired with Aprilia’s active electronic controls package which sets the bar on a global level. The 2021 RS 660 will arrive in Australia in March next year, with indicative pricing at between $18,500 and $19,000 plus on-road costs. Pricing in other countries is yet to be confirmed.

  • I mean i love my gsx-s 750 but once my brother gets his grubby A2 hands on an RS660, the garage view will be a bit deflating for me 😂

    • The Mille colours look great. My personal favourite too, but I bet they sell a tonne in Acid Gold.
