Can these cars be compared?
Today, we shall question what car magazines fail to understand - Is it Comparable? How hard can it be?
Car magazines fail to understand that a sedan can not be compared to an SUV, or an off-roader can not be compared to a Volvo XC40, a car meant for the roads of Europe.
1) Volvo XC40 vs Land Rover Defender
You just can't compare an XC40 to a defender. The defender holds a legacy that leaves a trail of memories for anyone who has ever had one. The XC40, a masterpiece of Swedish engineering, was designed for the roads of Europe. It guarantees its owner a smooth, comfortable, speedy, yet satisfying ride.
2) Jeep Wrangler vs Mercedes G-Class
You just can't compare a Wrangler to a G-Class. A G-Class astonishes my mind when I see its price tag. A pricier car can not be compared to an inexpensive one such as the Wrangler. A pricier car will offer you more quality and features than a car at the "gorgeous" price of the Wrangler.
3) Ford Mustang vs Nissan GTR
How many times have you come across an Autocar edition which compares these two? These can not be compared. A GTR does well on the road, but when you take it to the track, you must be thinking twice about the decision you made when purchasing such a car. The mustang costs lesser than the GTR and can accomplish more than the GTR can ever do.
4) VW Golf vs VW Jetta
It can get irksome. Just how many times you come across websites and youtube channels that compares these two. You can't compare a hot hatch that wins over the hearts of people with any other sedan. The Jetta offers a well-thought interior with some impressive legroom. Whereas the Golf is firmly at its place when the subject of your debate is chassis, engine and reliability.
These car magazines need to understand is that cars can not be compared just because they are popular but because the pair can be tricky, fair and satisfying to their readers. After all, how hard can it be?
