Can you believe that Lexus sold more LFAs in 2019 than in 2018?

The Japanese supercar is still with us!

In 2017, Lexus had kept several new examples of the superb LFA in the United States. Since then, it turns out that the Japanese brand has been able to sell these cars in limited editions, including last year. This shows that despite all the time that has passed and the extreme rarity of the model, there are still new Lexus LFAs in the USA.

For the year 2019, Lexus has sold more LFAs than in 2018. In 2018, two brand-new examples of the supercar were sold. The following year, three cars were sold! That's an incredible 50% increase in sales, which is extraordinary for a model that hasn't been produced for seven years!

These purely anecdotal figures obviously cannot be called a commercial success. Since 2010, the year of production of the LFA, only 500 units have been sold. Of these 500 examples, 178 were intended exclusively for the American market.

Production of the Lexus LFA was finished in 2012. For a brand that is not particularly recognized in the very closed world of supercars, we can therefore say that Lexus' gamble has been successful. Indeed, the LFA was quickly acclaimed by fans and the media for its design, performance and uniqueness. With a price tag of $375,000 in the US, it was also among the most expensive models in its class.
