Canada has just got its own Real-life Mario Kart track

Guarantee I get Blue-shelled

3y ago

Ever since first playing Super Mario Kart on Super Nintendo followed by the greatest of them all, Mario Kart 64 on N64, it has always been a little dream of mine to race in a real life version.

There have been a few attempts to recreate this in Japan where everyone dresses as Mario Kart characters and drive through the city, but there is no competitive element.

Step up Canada. This go-kart track will be the largest elevated track in North America.

So, come 2018 ladies and gentlemen, it will be time to bring out your inner Peach or Yoshi and take on the real-world Rainbow Road.

Disclaimer: You probably won't be allowed to throw bananas and Blue-shells at each other.

You can watch full lap of this magical track below:

  • The artificial go-kart sounds in the test drive video are killing me. Revs don't match the speed, and these most definitely will NOT be shifter carts for the general public. Plus you can see the drone's shadow.

    • I feel like even regular 'slow' go-karts would be too fast and dangerous for this track. Especially that downhill wave ramp...
