Can't afford the new Defender? LEGO has you covered...sort of

9w ago

When the new Land Rover Defender was announced yesterday, a few people were outraged at the price. I don't think that £40k is bad at all but others would disagree. Well, Lego Technic have come to the rescue and designed this extremely intricate lego model which comes in a stunning khaki green.

The model has a total of 2,573 and looks to be more complicated than the old Defender was. The Marketing Director of Lego, Niels Henrik Horsted said, “With every Lego element, children can build anything they can imagine. I’m very excited about this new model – a truly impressive job done by our Lego Group designers“. "Together with Land Rover, we’ve blended elements, design and innovative engineering into a set that shows the boundless creativity of Lego play, and that with Lego Technic you can build for real.” he continued.

Some of my favourite elements are the independent suspension, 4WD with three differentials, a carefully laid out gearbox, and a working winch. This truly is every petrolheads dream and the ultimate project for you and your son, or just you, depending on how selfish you are. The kit is set to launch on October 1st and is set to retail for £159.

  • Lego constantly making cool stuff is the reason I can't afford a real Defender right now.

I'm 35 and my mancave looks like bloody Legoland! 😉
