Car Design Company Comes Back From The Dead To Create 2 New Hypercars
Back in 2014, the famous design company Bertone, responsible for the styling of famous cars such as the Miura and Stratos, became bankrupt. Thankfully however in 2016, engineering and Motorsports company AKKA Technologies bought the rights to the name of the once infamous brand and that seemed to be the end of that.
The Lamborghini Miura is arguably the most successful piece of design from Bertone
Last year though, the name was licensed to mobility company Flymove who have big plans for the design giant. In fact, in November 2018 potential investors were gathered to the headquarters in Milan to check out a few new models two of which are set to have Hypercar performance. The two cars are called the BSS GT One and the BSS GT Cube. The BSS GT One is the less powerful of the two at 400 horsepower making it a sports/supercar. The second of the two is the BSS GT Cube. This is a out and out Hypercar producing twice as much power as the GT One at 800 horsepower helping it get from 0 to 60 mph in a staggering 2.2 seconds and it will eventually get up to 217 mph. The BSS GT Cube will be powered by a combination of an Internal Combustion Engine and an electric motor whereas the GT One will only feature the electric motor explaining the difference in power. Both models will be limited to 9 examples.
Fly move say the main selling point of these cars is the work around of battery charging times. In fact, the company has plans to set up battery swapping stations where batteries can be swapped in under 3 minutes cutting down the time of a full charge. The stations are set to be put in place in Italy as soon as this year.
Pre-orders for the two cars will open, and probably close on January the 15th with deliveries set to start in 2020.
