Carrera Panamericana Stage 2
Veracruz to Mexico City with the Team 122 Studebaker Champion
Our friends Angie and Gabriel started the day in 3rd place, 1 minute 37.9 seconds behind the race leaders. Stage 2 is the longest day of the race, so a lot was at stake. Teams drove a total distance of 575kms with 7 speed sections.
The day started on the coast before heading back into the mountains then turning north towards Mexico City. Knowledge of these roads is paramount when it comes to putting in a good time; team 122's recce served them well as they averaged 117.7kph. They are still running in 3rd place but now only 33 seconds separate them from the race leader and they are just 18 seconds behind the 2nd place car.
Which way now? Spectacular views on Stage 2 of the Carrera Panamericana
