Daniel Schmitt & Co., a classic car and motorcycle dealer in St. Louis, Missouri, has an immense inventory of beautiful old and luxurious vehicles for auction on their eBay page. They also help clients to find their dream cars. In case yours is a classic De Tomaso, you're in luck. They recently posted Carroll Shelby's 1983 De Tomaso Pantera GTS on their virtual auction block.

It can be bought now for $249,900.00 or bids can be placed until the auction is set to end on October 6. Especially since this ultra rare GTS model was exclusively owned by the famous Carroll Shelby, collectors will be salivating over it.

The car was a gift to Shelby from De Tomaso. He drove it for just over 4,500 miles. It features the original red exterior paint and tan leather interior. The car is in pristine condition, since having been recently liberated from the late Shelby's personal collection. Carroll Shelby died in 2012.

What do you think of this rare find? Would you like to have it?

  • I didn't realise De Tomaso was still making the original narrow body as late as 1983. I thought they had moved over exclusively to the wide body GT5 by then.
