Carroll Shelby's Cobra CSX 305 is up for sale
Last time it sold for $5.5 million!
In the world of Shelby Cobras, this particular one is the equivalent of getting a Charizard in a pack of Pokemon. It was owned by Carroll Shelby himself and it is up for sale yet again.
I say yet again, as this exact 1966 Shelby Cobra 427 sold not too long ago for a cool sum of $5.5 million. The reason it went for so much the first time is that this is no ordinary Shelby Cobra, it is a CSX 305 equipped with two Paxton superchargers and has dual Holley four-barrel carburetors sat on top of a cross-ram intake manifold.
The first giveaway is the big bonnet bulge, and the other are the fans at the front. A lot of you will be screaming because this is fitted with an automatic transmission, but this was the best option to handle this Cobra's 800hp output.
The CSX 305 isn't an original car by any means due to all this work. In fact, it started life as a 427 Cobra Competition which was raced. It has a very extensive history and is worth reading up on.
