Lake Como, Verona, and the Italian Alps
cars, coffee and mountainsArees Damani posted in Behind_the Wheel3y ago1.7K Award- Our adventure began on the shores of the magnificent Lake Como. A destination that had been on my wishlist for a very long time indeed...- Our lovely little Fiat 500. - The little Fiat was the perfect car for the tight and twisty roads around Lake Como- We took the ferry from Bellagio to Varenna before continuing our journey North towards the Alps...- Perfect road and the perfect view- The start of the wonderful Maloja Pass....recognise that tunnel anyone? - It had snowed overnight and the road was surrounded by fresh snow. Thankfully the roads were clear so we carried on hoping we could make it to the top...- We made it! And what a view once we got there- The Maloja pass starts off as a winding road with long sweeping bends but soon tightens up into a series of hairpins. Once at the top, the famous skiing village of St Moritz is a short 10 minute drive...- This was the view from our apartment on the Lake. Time for a well deserved break after a long day. Tomorrow we head to Verona...- Much to my surprise there happened to be a classic car meet in the main square...- 1956 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider- Also on the bucket list- Alfa Romeo Duetto Spider. This particular one looked wonderful in Blue with Red leather interior.- 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Veloce - Porsche 356- The original Italian icon, the Cinquecento. What a charming little thing... - 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia in Stromboli Grey. - And that was that...Italy, you didn't disappoint. Till next time...Lake Como, Verona, and the Italian Alps Award Arees
