Celebrating Negroni Week with the Bell & Ross #NegroniTime for the Rake
Aaaah you were expecting a Seiko, weren’t you
As the world is still celebrating Negroni week - dedicated to the world famous cocktail of the same name - I thought about writing something about the Seiko Cocktail Time ‘Negroni’ (SRPE41J), by far the most well-known Negroni-themed watch.
The ‘Negroni’ is actually the smallest Cocktail Time Seiko (38.5 mm) and it features a beautiful sunburst/fume/guilloche deep red dial.
But there’s another, lesser known Negroni-themed watch created by Bell & Ross in partnership with The Rake, a menswear/style magazine founded by Wei Koh, a New York-born Singaporean watch enthusiast who also runs Revolution Watch magazine, which he also founded.
The watch is based on the Bell & Ross Bellytanker and it features a unique dial with a sunray finish, painted with numerous layers of lacquer to give it a liquid effect.
The 41 mm stainless steel case houses a self-winding BR-CAL.301 chronograph movement with a 42-hour power reserve and the Negroni dial is paired with a Negroni-coloured rally-style strap made from suede.
Production is limited to 50 pieces exclusively available on The Rake and Revolution magazine for $4,500.
