Check out David Brown Automotive's new showroom in Regent's Park, London

I want that MINI!

Modern cars are larger, safer, faster and better - by any measurable and tangible standards - than old cars. Then again they're also bit bland, which is where small-batch manufacturers like David Brown Automotive come into play.

Founded in Coventry in 2013 and headquartered in Silverstone, David Brown specialize in what the company calls 'Remarested' models: modern and more 'real-world-friendly' versions of classic cars. They're mostly famous for the Mini Remastered and the Speedback GT (based on the Jaguar XKR), a 503-hp sports coupe equipped with a 5.0-litre V8.

The company relies on sales partners in Germany, Japan and Hong Kong and now, for the first time in the brand's history, they've opened a shiny showroom in central London, located at 151-153 Park Road, St John's Wood, a stone's throw from Regent's Park.

The showroom has enough space to accommodate six cars and prospective customers will be given the chance to test drive the Mini and the Speedback GT in the City, even though they're obviously also going to continue using their factory in Northamptonshire as well.

  • The rear lights are bad, looks like something mitsuoka would do.

  • The mini is my favourite car and I’ve often dreamed of restoring one/restomoding. But the David Brown versions I don’t like. And the rear lights are atrocious.
