Chevrolet are heading to Daytona with 24 cylinders and 1,370 HP
Think Rapid Blue looks good on the new Stingray? It looks even better here!
NASCAR is one of the biggest sporting events on the planet, and this weekend it's heading to the world-renowned Daytona International Speedway. Naturally, Chevrolet have to get in on the action, and have supplied three different pace cars for the event.
All three of the cars are powered by some variation of Chevy's 6.2l small-block V8, with a total of 24 cylinders and 1,370hp between them. Each of the vehicles will be painted in Corvette-exclusive Rapid Blue, and feature a red, white, and blue theme inspired by the 2021 Daytona 500 logo.
The Corvette Stingray coupe will act as the official pace far for the Daytona 500 on Sunday, while the Silverado 1500 RST will start off the Camping World Truck Series on Friday, and the Camaro SS 1LE will kick things off in the Xfinity Series race on Saturday.
Chevrolet certainly has an impressive track record. In total, they've paced the race 14 times, and won it 24 times - more than any other manufacturer has managed.
There's also some good news for Chevrolet fans in the 'real world' - While Rapid Blue is usually a Corvette-exclusive colour, the 2022 Camaro will offer this colour as an option for the first time, so if you're looking for a new Camaro, now's the time to get one!
