Chevrolet is struggling to keep up with the demand for the C8 Corvette

It's just too damn popular.

The last year hasn't been easy for car makers across the world. First we were all hit with a global pandemic which slowed work down, but now we are faced with a global chip shortage which has affected almost every single car company under the sun.

One of the biggest car makers in the world has also taken the biggest hit and that is GM. The demand for the new Chevrolet C8 Corvette is so high that is means they simply can't get them out to customers as quickly as they'd hoped.

Last year, Chevrolet sold 21,626 C8 Corvettes, which was a 20 per cent increase over 2019 which was very impressive, but they still can't keep up with the demand, sadly. Production of the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is expected to start in September, but it looks like customers will be faced with yet another long wait.

  • They should always make less than there is demand and watch what happens to the residuals. Also continuous improvement to keep it at the front of its game will make it the most wanted and it will be their cash cow.

Don’t fall into the oversupply trap!
