Chevrolet says its ICE trucks aren't going anywhere

Despite the announcement of its new electric pickup, Chevrolet will still be selling ICE pickups!

Chevrolet has announced some big news about the upcoming arrival of its all new fully-electric pickup truck, which promises a GM-estimated range of 400 miles on a single charge. This is massive news as it would give the Tesla Cybertruck and Rivian RT1 some strong competition.

However, GM has considered its fan-base may not be ready for the switch just yet, so have said its internal combustion engined (ICE) trucks will stick around for a while.

Kyle Suba at Chevrolet Communications said: "You might be wondering what this announcement means for our current Silverado on the road and in showrooms today. To confirm, it does not impact our current Silverado and commitment to ICEs in the near term."

This is probably for the best if GM wishes to please everyone who follows them. Until they are ready to switch to purely electric pickups, it's always good to keep the trusty old ones around for a bit longer.

    • It’s such a shame because Ford has such a history and heritage of great muscle and sports cars and even normal family cars and now they’re destroying it with cars like the Mach E

  • Shoehorn the Camaro/C7-Corvette LT1 V8 and call it an SS in that case.

  • I'm glad chevy will still be making ICE trucks. I do wish though that they would call the mach 1 "Mach 1" instead of mustang. Its not a mustang.

    • I’m assuming you meant the Mach E? The mach 1 has ALWAYS been a mustang option package. It was never a separate car. It was a performance option package.
